Technique Tuesdays!

Hello! I hope that this finds you well. I am well into Christmas preparations- I just made my Christmas list and checked it twice! Don't let it sneak up on you :) One wonderful gift is a handmade gift - the gift of your time to someone. I want to send my family members who correspond handmade stampin' up cards before the holidays so that they can share with the ones that they love. As this means I need 4X as many cards by Christmas, its the perfect time for new techniques! I will be photographing my favorite cards as I craft and will post them here - perhaps on a Tuesday, my day off. We can refine our techniques together. If you need a special card, comment & let me know! Be well, ~Anne

Stamp sets for sale

Hello,
I am selling some retired stamping up sets that I can bear to part with. I now have so many stamp sets that they fill an entire drawer. The husband seems to think its extreme to shop for a new home based on my stamping needs, so some need to go :)  All of my stamps are in excellent condition, well loved. Come by the shop tomorrow once I photograph and list some of my stamp sets. If you live near Santee, message me and we can arrange a pick up.

I'm clearing out space for a new group of stamps coming from the Spring Sale - a - bration. I am excited to show you the new stamps!

Crafting in chaos

Hello!

Apologies for any typos on this post - my cat Elmo is helping me type this morning. The husband and I went to the pool for a few hours, causing Elmo to miss his morning snuggles. We move right to the 'Mommy is trying to look up new card ideas on stampinup.com for the next card party' snuggles. This cat is quite a snuggler!

I'm working on finding balance in my life at the moment with my obsession for stamping and our new commitment to being healthier! I haven't stamped this week and it gets to be a gnawing. My next project is going to be starting my stampin' up! scrapbook. I have three subjects to feature - my wedding

the trips that my husband and I have taken

and the adorable - ness of the fuzzy friends.

I am excited to work on new cards with new techniques. My stampin' up! work shop orders are arriving and a gift for myself was the new paper piercing template essentials. Paired with some of the subtles buttons and some paper, I can't wait to see what I can share at the next few parties.

One thing I want to do is pierce my old favorite card. It would be so fresh!

I will of course post the next work shop photos

Stock up on DSP

Hello! I don't want you to miss out on this great deal. From now onto July 31st, you can buy 3 DSP and get one free! Thats a great deal and the perfect time to try out these new DSP in the new catalog.

What DSP is your favorite? My personal favorites are Gingham Garden, Birthday Basics Venetian Romance and Eastern Elegance. I adore the bright Gingham garden for a bright summer feel. One gorgeous way to use it is to cut out a square of Gingham Garden, tape it on with Washi Tape onto Gold card-stock. Its gorgeous.

You can find the DSP on pages 153 - 154. Feel free to order on http://www.stampinup.com/home/ through me - Anne Purkey for the preferred price!

What do I do with Butterfly Embossits & Punches?

Hello!

I have now expended the supply section in my shop to include staples in my crafting - Beautiful Wings Embossits & the Bitty Butterfly punch. I am sure that looking at the pictures of the product itself may be underwhelming. They are just bits of paper - but they also can be an amazing embellishment to step up any project. Here are some of my favorite ways to use Beautiful Wings embossits and bitty butterflies.

#1 A quick pop of Stampin' Up glue dots and they add instant pizazz to any card

#2 Add dimension without a lot of bulk to your scrap book pages

#3 Confetti! They are great to pop into the envelope of your already beautiful handmade card for a fun surprise.

Check back for more projects using Beautiful wings embossits & bitty butterflies!

July is here and winter is coming...

... no, really, it is!

My wonderful upline June has convinced me to have a Christmas stamp a stack in July. That means an event where you spend a party stamping and leave with a stack of Christmas cards. This all happens in July, so you don't have to scramble at the last minute to put together enough cards for your friends and family :)  Now I'm putting together details from the holiday catalog and annual catalog and I need some of your input :)  What kind of cards would you like to make? What color scheme?  Comment & let me know!

So excited!

The new catalog is a breath of fresh air tinged with sea salt for me. It evokes memories of lazy days by the shore, sunkissed cheeks and fun filled days of family. A lot of  this is likely inspired by the new colors- Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe come to mind! I also am in love with pages 76 - 77 on the new catalog. Look at those gorgeous ideas!
I am really happy that By the Seashore has returned. This is a great stamp set for family vacations for people who are land locked! Its also a perfect stamp set for my nieghbors who are all in California. I can't wait to bring it out for when I scrapbook my honeymoon (a cruise to Puerta Vallarta!)
The little coastal cabana colored image on page 77 is a great information blurb on how to add a pretty effect to your projects. Stampin' up offers gorgeous core'dinations (in all colors, including the new ones!) that are a fun way to make each piece you make one of a kind and different even from the piece you made five minutes ago. I have 12X12 sheets of all of the new colors that I can't wait to share with my party attendees!
If you want to purchase some of the Core'dinations now, remember that you can always order through me and get preferred pricing online http://stampinup.com/home/ My name is Anne Purkey (yes, I'm working on changing it!)

Loving Stampin' up and not going broke

One big thing that I have struggled with these past few weeks is budgetting. It's easy to open the new catalog and say 'Oooh, thats it! Thats the one I'm making!'  yet with me, theres always something to tweak.  I have put myself on a Stampin' up budget. That means I only spend the money I earn through Stampin' up for SU! products! Its a good idea to keep the bills paid and the savings on track, but it means I can't buy the six new stamp sets featured in the new Stampin Success, the magazine (and idea book!) mailed out to demos.

So when I open the SS (Stampin' Success), I search for that 'WOW!' project that I know my friends will love. Then I tweak something about it to fit something that I already have. That stack of new in colors? Thats my color base. That brand new stamp set that I HAD to have last month and haven't even used? Thats also brought out. Its a good system to show people what works and what is versatile!

A hobby stamper might be okay with buying something and then not using it again for awhile, but for me - everything is going to be used again and given a fresh new look. Most of my friends work at the same company as I do (not SU!) and I know exactly what they earn. I want to show them how you can make pretty things all over and through out the year without spending an entire paycheck! I haven't been near my Stampin' spot today ( a full day at the day job!) but I'll have to do a shoot where you can re - use your fave items for fresh new looks from the catalog!  Friends, stay tuned for the July 14th party because I want to WOW you with my new product and the new catalog!
~Anne

Hello!

Sorry that I haven't posted in awhile. Stampinup! has come out with a new annual catalog and I've been running to catch up with the bright new themes :)  I've been bitten by the butterfly bug and have made several butterfly cards. I am having a terrible time deciding which one should be the card at the next party. What do you think?

Persistence is paying off!

Hello!

I am adamant about two listings a day in the etsy shop and I think that its paying off. Yet the real benefit of it is that its making me have a deadline to craft - and procrastination is a big flaw of mine. Knowing that I need to get two cards done helps me sit at my table and start stamping - and then a lot gets done! Most of the time, I start working on a few mini projects before I actually get the two cards done.

Here are two of this weeks projects - the first one is my Mother's Day card for my mom and the second is a card thats on Etsy :)

Not being organized is a killer

While basking in my 'I'm organized! Look at me!' stage, I decide to make a pack of Easy Events cards. I love easy events. It has the cupcake, the tree and the wedding birds; which are by far my favorite. I go to my stamp drawer and low and behold, no stamp set. I find the empty box which only raises questions. Is the cupcake adhered to a clear block somewhere? Quick, remember how many clear blocks you own. Yeah. This is me tossing my stampin' up station.

I have now resigned myself to a different stamp set. I'm waffling between Lovely as a Tree, Hearts a Flutter and Bordering on Romance. I was planning on sending my mom a card set, so I suppose those three work well for all occasions. I also have Perfect Punches out for that lovely little addition to every card.  I'm going to get to work! Stay tuned for cards to appear.

I do have a question to leave you with - what cards do I need more of in my shop? Comment and let me know, please!

~Anne

I am eagerly spending my one day off by myself to be creative. Now some of my creative energy was sapped cleaning up my craft room.  'My' craft room now houses the computer that my husband and I use, so its getting a little cramped! I need to sell / get rid of some things that I don't use and organize my space better.  I keep telling myself more space = more new stuff from the new catalog!

Here's a flash of my Etsy shop - two new listings a day is my goal!

Happy Mother's Day, Moms!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you Moms out there! There's not enough that can be said for the countless hours of unconditional love that Moms provide.

I'm really missing my Moms right now - one of them is out of town due to a death in the family and one lives in another state. I am dealing with my feelings by making a 'Thank you' gift box of cards. I can't wait to get these photographed to share here (and to remember what I've sent so the next gift box will be refreshing!)

Saturday, May 11, 2013

I've been a little quiet on here because I've tackled another creative endeavor. I am trying to get my Stampin' Up cards onto my Etsy shop. Its just two cards a day so far, but I have thoughts of card kits and such! I am preparing 'elements' such as butterfly embossits and punched shapes that I'll likely offer for CHEAP to help new card makers or mixed media artists create.

Today I listed two of my favorite cards - my Easy Events Happy Birthday and my Hearts a Flutter card. These were two of the cards I created myself without CASEing, so I'm very proud. I'm offering them as custom cards so customers can choose different colors or sentiments.

Thoughts?

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

Today I offered my first time ever morning card party. We started at 11 A.M. and wrapped around 12:30.  It was a blast! We weren't worried about the hour getting late - with the night time parties, we always had to wrap by 8 because we had to be at work at 0430. This time we socialized and took our time!

Here are the two cards that we made. These were both easily converted to Mother's Day cards - Sam converted the More Amore Butterflies into a Mother's Day card with the sentiment from Delightful Dozen. I originally had people who wanted Mother's Day cards, but I adapted my samples.

The 'Thanks so much' is being packaged to be sent to my wonderful friend and my last hostess!

I am so excited with the next card class. As this is my last month to showcase the retiring products, I'm going to go all out!  The card offerings will be a Father's Day Card (featuring Lovely as a Tree), a masculine happy birthday card (featuring the woodgrain folder), a masculine thankyou card, a triple stamped card and a welcome baby card featuring print poetry! The card class is Sunday, April 12th at 6 P.M.

Monday, April 29, 2013

The retire list is here!

Hello! I have exciting news - the new catalog is coming out in June.  Due to this, there are hundreds of items on the retired list that won't be available come June.
Don't miss out on getting those items you have had your eye on - and lots are on sale!!  Remember items are while supplies last, and some will go quick.

The Hostess Promotion and a special incentive from me

Hello!

I hope that this finds you well. I would like to remind you about the fantastic new SU! promotion:

This means that if you host a $350 party, you choose $80 of SU! product for free! Stamp sets, stamp pads, punches and accessories in any combination. You can also choose from the special hostess only section at the back of the catalog.  In addition to this promotion, I am offering a 'basket of stamps' to any hostess who hosts a $150 party. These are SU! *retired* wooden stamps in a variety of sayings and images from 1996 - 2003. When you host a party, any bookings that I receive from your party earn you a prize of your choice- a free set of dsp paper delivered to you at your friend's booked party.

Even if you don't get the $350 party, you still get free stamps for a $150 party- and a free set of DSP for any bookings made at your party!  I will be bringing a '40 guests in 40 minutes' work sheet to the card party tonight for you to start thinking of who to invite.  Book your April 29 - May 30th party tonight for a free goodie!

We will be making four cards from the Spring catalog. Feel free to invite a friend, first class is always free.

I want to have a private prep party with any one who would like to host a party. We can make hand made invitations for your party guests and go over any questions that you have.

New Incentive from Stampin Up for new hostesses!

Hello every one! I'm very excited about how Stampin up is rewarding hostesses!

New catalog

What New Stamp Set would you like to see in the upcoming new catalog?

I would love to see more masculine stamp sets - sets that are versatile. I have never ordered a 'masculine' SU set yet because the 'tie' set never appealed to me. Now Fathers Day is coming and I'm in a bind! :)

I looked through the new Stampin' Success - a great magazine full of inspiration and project ideas for demonstrators - and I can not wait for this new catalog. Two of my favorite colors - Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder - are here to stay from the incolors.
