My first Stampin' Up party was a success!

My first stampin' up party was a success! It was my first solo party without my upline, June, present and my second Stampin up party ever. I thought it was going to be a smaller party (my mother and two of my co - workers) because my sister in law flew in today.  To my happy surprise, my two sister in laws, my husband's aunt and cousin all attended the party! I had three make & takes - Betsy's Blossom in Wisteria Wonder, Easy Events Cupcake and a retired rose stamp to demonstrate the Stampin' Write markers. I even have a co - worker wanting to be a hostess for a Christmas themed party in September!

I'll post the photos of the Make & Takes in the morning.  I also had someone contact me on Facebook for a bike card; and I have an Apothecary card set to make for my next event on the 3rd! Its going to be a good month for stampin' up & I!

Good afternoon, lovelies~

Two things to talk to you about today. #1 on my mind is that it is the 30th today.  The time to order the beautiful Stamping set for 5$ with a 50$ order is only an option for 1 more day!   I have a few suggestions about how to reach 50$ in order to take advantage of this great deal.

#1 Don't forget coordinating paper. I have seen beautiful work in Calypso & Pool Party (above) and Daffodil Delight and Real Red (below)
#2 Always remember Whisper White card stock! This is what you will be stamping on the majority of the time.
#3 Look to embellishments. The first card uses a paper punch to add a shape to the Whisper White; the Daffodil delight uses the ribbon for that flair.  Check out the Happiness is Supplies tabs for more ideas!

The second thing on my mind is that my first solo demonstrator party is tomorrow! I'm looking forward to it. We'll be using Betsy's Blossoms & Easy Events 'Happy Birthday'. I'll let you know how it goes!

Good evening.  I'm looking at the card lay out for tomorrow. I have just been told that three more ladies will be coming to the event on the 31st, so I need some more color swatches for the cupcake card! I am looking at a few choices. There is the cupcake patterned DSP from Patio Party.  I can also use the card stock with these colors...

What screams 'cupcake' to you? Help me out :)

Hello!

I'm happy to share that I've managed two of my very own Stampin' Up designs. Its an exciting time! Now that the Holiday Mini Catalog can be revealed on August 1st, I can not wait for the August workshops and card classes. After speaking to my upline, the darling June, I will begin charging 10$ for my card classes.  This money will go to buying embellishments so that I can show you more advanced stamping techniques.

Here are my two new babies.  I have sketches of dozens that will come together over the next few days!

I recently joined a card swap!

I was browsing Stampin' Connection - the demonstrator only blog for Stampin' Up - and I was finding these discussions displaying beautiful cards. I racked my brain trying to figure out how they made these cards and I stumbled upon a 'Specific Stamp set swap'. It is a group of demonstrators who make 8 identical cards with specific stamp sets and send them to the organizer. She sends 1 each to every demonstrator who participates in the swap. Its a great way to get ideas from one another and share techniques for how we made that 'Wow' card! I bit the bullet and signed up for 'Betsy's Blossoms' swap.

I recently bought this stamp set at a card class hosted by my upline, June. She demonstrated a beautiful card:

I'm going to try and add my own creative spin to the card! Wish me luck :)

What cards are we going to make this month?

Hello!

I've been doing a lot of thinking on our card line ups for July 31 & the month of August.  I have a lot of really cute stamps that I want to share with you!

On July 31st, we will be doing the Big Shot! demo - you will have hands on practice adding texture to paper and cutting out shapes. You will be given a scrap pack of paper to work with your favorite folders, embossits and framelets. I will also have the Easy Events 'Happy Birthday!' Cupcake to color with Stampin' Up Markers.

On August 3rd, we will be working with adding texture to cards with ribbons and brads. One card uses the Blossom Punch to add dimension and another uses Betsys Blossoms stamp set and ribbons.  You will also have a first look at the Holiday Mini Catalog! This catalog has a lot of fun features that I think you will enjoy.

On August 14th, I will bring out some of the best retired stamp sets to work on new techniques to use for Christmas cards - such as pearls as ornaments and shimmer paint to add that extra sparkle. I'll also peek at your wish lists to see what Holiday Mini Catalog items are your favorite to demo on August 31st! (This class is 10$ because we'll be using a lot of neat embellishments!)

On August 18th; we'll be working with Apothecary Art stamp set and Labels Framelets to create some great color combination and textures! (This class is 10$ because we'll be using a lot of neat embellishments!)

August 31st we will have our Holiday Mini merchandise to play with! We will make Christmas Cards and Christmas tags.  The cost will be $10 to make four cards. This will likely be a favorite!

Clearance

Hello,

I hope that this finds you well.   My husband and I drove to Ramona to help my parents clear out the storage locker for their move recently.  My mom was kind enough to loan me her stampin' up stamp collection - 2 whole storage bins! She gave me a storage bin full of paper (most retired) and a bin full of inks, all Stampin' Up merchandise!  To make room for all of this good fortune, I am clearing out my middle drawer tomorrow and posting everything at my Etsy shop at low prices.  I believe its a lot of fat corners, AIDA cloth and perhaps some embroidery kits, including good yards of muslin and linen. I am also posting all of my non Stampin' Up papers on Etsy.  Come check it out here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Serynanne  I'll probably start photographing & listing about 10 am and go through 5 PM. Come get some great deals :)

So excited

Hello every one,

I am happy to say that August is going to be a big month for Stampin' Up. The holiday mini can be shown to you on August 1st - it has many new features! One of my favorites is that SU is bundling its items to save you as much as $12. For example, you can get a stamp & framelet set with just one order code and save money.  There are also new scents such as Peppermint Stick and a new embossing folder that I am dying to try out. You'll get your first peek at the Holiday Mini on August 3rd.

I'll order my Holiday items that day as well and have some Christmas Make & Takes for you on August 18th. I am going to try and get a Card Buffet giveaway set up for late August. It works out best with lots of guests- more prizes for you! Please RSVP early for the August 31 event and if we have 10 guests; I'll make it the prize giveaway event!  If we don't have the attendance, I'll set up a giveaway event in September.

The events of the month - July 31 and August 3rd will be a lot of fun; activities are already planned. We'll be coloring cupcakes on July 31 and playing with the Big Shot. Bring your paper (or accept my scrap bag!) and play with all of my embossits, folders and punches. There will be the cupcake card make & take. Event is free!

August 3rd is your first look at the Mini and we'll have two make & takes as well.  Event is free!

August 14th will be a Christmas Card Buffet, I'll have four cards for you to make. Please bring your own adhesive; I will only have 1 present. Event is 10$ or a 20$ order. We will be using the new product from the mini!

August 18th is another Christmas event, we will be making cards and gift tags. Please bring your own adhesive; I will only have 1 present. Event is 10$ or a 20$ order. We will be using the new product from the mini!

August 31 will be a GIVEAWAY! Please tell your friends; bring a friend. You will get a free gift for bringing a friend (please RSVP by August 22nd so the gift will ship from SU for Aug 31!).This will be a FUN GIVEAWAY Event where you get free Stamping Up products from the 12$ fee. If we have more than 4 attendees and you pay before August 22nd; it will be a giveaway event! Fee 12$ PER person, guests included. This will be used to give you gifts of SU card stock, Stampin' Write markers & embellishments! Fill out your wishlist and give it to me on Aug 18 or with your payment and I'll order those items!

The line up for the card buffet

Good evening!

The 1st card buffet will be on July 25th at 6 PM. The cost is 12 $ which goes towards Stamping Up giveaways that you will receive that night. Some of the prizes will be card stock, brad sets and Stampin' Write markers! We will be featuring these items in the cards; so you will leave knowing how to use them.  Please RSVP and give me your money by July 17th so that I have enough time to order all of the prizes for the attendees

I am lining up the cards for the card buffet on the 25th.  The card stock that I'll be featuring will be Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder. Three embellishments that I am really liking for them is the Blossom punch, the in color designer brads and the Island Indigo and Wisteria Wonder Ruffled ribbon.
For the first card;  I'm using the Big Shot framelets to layer the Whisper White stamped image over the Wisteria Wonder base layer on top of a Whisper White card stock. I'll be using the 'Happiest Birthday' from Apothecary stamp set as the stamp for the Wisteria Wonder card!

I am laying out more sayings and stamps from the Apothecary stamp set for the rest of the cards. I will also do a preview of 'Patio Party' that I'll bring out for August.  The Holiday Mini can also be revealed to you on August 1st; so be sure to come to this first week of events in August to see the new Holiday stamp sets and designs!

Today got away from me...

I meant to post sneak peeks of the cards that you will be seeing at the card buffet; but today has gotten away from me a bit. My back has been acting up - and my tummy feels quesy - so I don't want to take my pain medication. Think I'll set everything up on my low table here and snap some pictures. I hope to take some 'how to' pictures for a virtual demonstration!  Its 4 o clock so the pictures may be dark; but I think that I can brighten them up enough :)  Stay tuned!

Patio Party Birthday Card

One thing that I like about the Patio Party designer paper is that its great for cards for men.  The colors coordinate great with the darker blues and yellows for a masculine card! I made a card for my Uncle Steve with a Night of Navy base, Starfruit second layer (from Patio Party Designer Paper) Circles side (from Patio Party Designer Paper) a whisper white tag and a Happy Birthday stamp on the tag from Perfectly Penned stamp set.

The whole card took about five minutes to cut the paper and about five to assemble. The Starfruit layer and circle layer are only about 1/4 an inch smaller than one another; for that nice night of navy border. I used snips to cut out the stamped image and a yellow circle from scrap paper from the 3rd layer.

Hello!

I hope today finds you well. I am very happy right now! I just completed a card for my Uncle Steve's birthday and it looks fabulous. I still can't find my camera; but I'll be editing in pictures here when I borrow my mom's wonderful Nikon.

The card recipe:
Card base in Not Quite Navy
2nd layer in Patio Party Designer paper; the Starfruit side
3rd layer in Patio Party Designer paper; the multi colored circles side
4th layer a small circle of Whisper white stamped with 'Happy Birthday' from Perfectly Penned
5th layer: a cut out summer starfruit circle placed over the edge of the 'Happy Birthday' circle

The card took barely ten minutes to make!
