New Sachet designs

Hello!

As I mentioned before, I have bought a heat transfer pencil- which has led to two new designs!
I've sketched many of the monograms, so look for those in the coming days!

It's all organized!

I had a little fit going through my Etsy shop today. I listed more accurate sections based on the item- so head bands and hair pins are in one section, work to be displayed is in another. I initially gave the sections with the most items higher precedence, but now I'm wondering at the wisdom in that. I have more pin cushion & framed embroidery designs sketched for new pieces. Should I give the sections that will be updated more often the highest visibility? What are your thoughts?

I'm also not sure how I like the new lay out. I like how the featured items are prominent, but I don't like the userbar on the other side now!

I love my mailman!

One of the many reasons that I love my mailman- besides putting up with these yappers:

- is that he brings me presents! You'll recall that I already received the awesome pin cushion set up from http://www.etsy.com/shop/lornabateman22 earlier this week. (You also may like to check out her kits!)

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new set of Aida cloth from http://www.etsy.com/shop/YarnGraphics I have bought a 'Box o Fabric' from YarnGraphics in the past and I was happy with the value I received. She really ensured that box was packed with fabric.

I've recently purchased a transfer pen that creates iron transfers from ordinary paper for this Aida cloth. I plan on coming out with some new pin cushions! I even added a new section on my shop for it. Yarn Graphics is having awesome destash sales if you need to pick anything up. I picked up these 6 Aida pieces for 8 dollars, including shipping!

Let me know if you find any awesome pieces, I have faith that you will. I'm back to adding potpourri to the new sachets :)

New Line: pincushions?

Hello!

You didn't see much of me these last few days because I'm happily embroidering for my new purchase- a pin cushion mold! It's a lovely stand made out of wood and it is simply charming. I admit to setting it all around my craft room, imagining where I would photograph it after I attached my own embroidery. Now I like it so much that it may stay with me :P My original intent was to embroider and offer it for sale on my store.

I think that I'll play with my designs for it a bit more and see how it would work out. I can always buy more cushions. I suggest that you check it out, here is one of the listings:

It'd be a great way to test out the tutorials and give it to someone dear to you. Or you can be like me and debate if you can part with something so adorable.

I have been working on wrist pin cushions today. I got the idea out of a quilting magazine. I got the *idea* as I've found that pattern making with felt annoys me. I much prefer freehanding things as opposed to measuring each itty bitty thing. I'll unveil the pictures tomorrow~ hopefully will have made progress to list them :)

Your opinion: The next tutorial

Hello!

I have tomorrow off and plan on working my way through a bulk of the old vintage patterns that I got off of Ebay for 5 dollars nearly a year ago. I'm also working on some variation patterns of the long and search stitch for eye glass and phone cases. I'll unveil the prototypes if they turn out pretty :)

What would you like to see for the next tutorial? Have you ever wanted to learn how to sew a certain flower? Let me know!

A look back

Still working on setting up my craft room the way it was before the tenting! Work also doubled my hours so I have zero time to craft. I just know that I'm going on a crafting binge next week!

I am back home! Not to say I wasn't immensely grateful that my fiance put up with his living room couch becoming my crafting room, but I am halfway to unpacking and getting back to my set up. Spider Web Rose tutorial

Step 1: Make a 'spider web' of straight stitches. Make sure to leave an opening in the center, you will be bringing the ribbon up through there.
Step Two: Bring the ribbon up from the center of the spiderweb.
Step Three:When you bring the ribbon up, begin alternating the ribbon weaving. Go under one floss straight stitch and over the the next. It will wrap nicely into a web rose. You'll learn how loose or how tight to pull the ribbon with practice. Try to pull the ribbon through nice and easy! Let it gather into little rose petals :)
Here I used contrasting floss to show you how to over - under - over - under. With some practice, you can make lovely roses!
