Hello!
I found a lovely shop by 'shopping locally' through etsy:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/boygirlparty
It was these adorable to do notes that drew me in:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/62356104/blue-owl-to-do-list-note-pad-by
There's little bubbles for 'do later'. How clever is that?
There is also an adorable bear on a bicycle:

Which one is your favorite?

New Years Resolutions!
Lets face it, I bet we all make lists that we never intend to keep. Lose those ten pounds. Stop hiding the cookie stash ;)
This year, do you have any Etsy goals? I know that I do!
Goal One: Show my Mom, sister in law and friends my new ideas first. My mom surprised me last night when she stated that she had no idea that I had so many finished pieces! It helps to have something to offer loved ones for last minute hostess gifts.
Goal Two: Spend more time on the end goal - making people happy. I spent some of my days off going 'I need to photograph', 'I need to promote' and 'I need to finish such and such!' instead of focusing on the joy of embroidery. Getting things listed is nice, but it isn't so serious!
Goal Three: Find more people to sew with! I hear great things about stitch & bi*ch, but I haven't found one in my area. All of my friends seem to think its old fashioned. Maybe I'll even sign up for a class!
What are your resolutions? Care to share them in the comments? They don't have to be about Etsy!

Looking Back: A year to date
The end of the year has come. It seems to have flown by! How has your year been? Eventful? Exciting? Fulfilling?
One of my friends has a facebook album entitled a 'year in food'. Its an album of all of her favorite meals. Its very funny, as she's very thin and some of these meals look so unhealthy!
I'm taking a page from Kelly's book and focusing on a 'year in pictures'. A year in embroidery pictures!
I can't remember where they came from, but if you recognize a pic, let me know so I can give credit!
These are my very favorite pieces for the end of the year!

The designs
I've been pecking at the giveaway card ideas. The suggestions were very helpful, it has inspired me to try a handful of new designs. I have two of the lovely blue ones stitched. Tried two different techniques- my fiance likes one, his mother likes the other. Thats the funny thing about taste!
The first design:
The second design:
I used smaller stitches for the first design, a more delicate technique.
For the second, I used a lazy daisy stitch with looser, fuller stitches. I have yet to create a card of these, but I have to say that it has been enjoyable.
I am also working on Calla lillies:The cross stitch was an after thought. I didn't like the white lilies on the Aida, so I'm stitching on some contrast. Ought to be done soon and then the giveaway can begin properly!
Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Oh Christmas Tree
This morning found me presented with a fun challenge- Keith wanted me to make a card for the hostess of a party that we were to attend.
I had a Hunter session planned, but as I wasn't the Storyteller I was able to set everything up and start stitching in between my character's posts.
Keith could almost be considered an alchemy request, I swear.
You can look at the picture here to compare:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/63996706/christmas-tree-card-in-silk-ribbon
He wanted the tree taller by half an inch. No crazy tinsel, no ornaments- something nice and traditional. Something boring, I thought! So I dug into the ribbon my Mom had given me from her 'Kari me Away' ribbon embroidery classes.
I found some of the organza ribbon with the sparkly glitter-y look to it and used that as the only decoration to the tree, besides the star. You need a star!
Compare?
My first tree:
Keith's tree for Ana:
I free - handed the whole thing. Does it look off center?

Discovered Shop
Good news!
I found a new shop via Pounce (Yet to make a sale) and discovered an amazing photography shop on Etsy.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/63929650/snowy-white-lilies-back-lit-by-the-warm?ref=pounce
This item in particular capture the light playing along the petal in a spectacular fashion. Photographs of real flowers inspire my most insightful silk ribbon embroidery. If this is still here come payday, its coming home with me! Act quick :P

Another Aimee Pattern that I found
There's a lovely mermaid pattern by Aimee Ray that I just discovered.
Aimee Ray is an absolutely brill designer, as you can see here:
I stick to my purple mermaids. but pink is wonderful! I may try doodlestitching some more in the future. This is a wonderful inspiration!
Definitely going to give crayon tinting a go! She mentioned it in her doodle stitching book, but I had never tried it before. Looks like there's a time for every one to try it!
For any one in the Austin, TX, area I found a neat little web site that looks like its hosted its fair share of neat classes & stitch & bitches.
http://www.stitchlab.biz/contact.html
If you don't live in Austin, TX, but know someone who does, there's even a gift certificate option:
